Regular town board meeting held on July 7th, 2015 at the town hall meeting room. Meeting notice was posted in 3 places in town: post office, hardware store and the town hall window box.
Present were Chairman Paul Ehlinger, Supervisors Nancy Schuhart & Jim Smith, Treasurer Chris Geske & Clerk Brenda St. Peter.
Paul called the meeting to order.
Please present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Paul made a motion to approve the agenda as presented. Nancy seconded the motion. 3 yes 0 no. Motion carried.
Brenda read the minutes of the June 16, 2015 meeting. Nancy made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Jim seconded the motion. 3 yes 0 no. Motion carried.
Rick Backhaus commented on Humane Officer and dog pick-up.
Nate Gilpin from FC Potawatomi asked about fence regulations. Also discussed was fire contract, Elm & Maple Streets on Trump Lake and setting up a meeting with FC Potawatomi representatives to discuss other topics.
Brenda brought up a complaint received on garbage at a residence on Ogden Ave. The town board will be looking into this.
There was a discussion on reserving town owned picnic tables. This will be looked into.
Brenda read a letter from the DOT informing the Town that Kuffner, Indian Market, Camp 1 and Bay Shore roads were not approved as a Rustic Road route.
Brenda read a letter from the WI Dept. of Natural Resources informing the town of a grant that allows them to control the spread of an invasive wetland plant, Phragmites austalis. They would like to do this in the Fire Fighters Park area.
Jim made a motion to approve Operator’s Licenses for Jeanne Eanes, Audreanna Stuhr, Cari Schottky, Kaitlyn Schingeck, Paul Menne, April Hackey and Anita Umentum. Paul seconded the motion. 3 yes 0 no. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Nancy to contract with the Forest County Humane Society for animal control. Jim seconded the motion. 3 yes 0 no. Motion carried.
There was a discussion on possible road work for Fred Bath. The town board does not think it’s feasible to do alley work in Frog Town on Fred’s property and will be looking further into alley work at his Soperton property.
The Recycling Center was discussed. Topics included Iron Horse prices and recycling.
Jim made a motion to transfer Wabeno’s generator 100k on Chasis to the Wabeno Sanitary District. Nancy seconded the motion. 3 yes 0 no. Motion carried.
Nancy made a motion to update the Town of Wabeno’s full time employee benefit package as presented. Jim seconded the motion. 3 yes 0 no. Motion carried.
Paul met with County workers and discussed road work projects that will be done this summer/fall. They will be starting work this week.
Discussion was had on an easement for the walking trail. A letter will be written and brought to Ellis Schmidt regarding town liability for work on his property.

The next town board meeting will be on July 21, 2015 at 6 pm.
