Regular town board meeting held on May 5, 2015 at the town hall meeting room.  Meeting notice was posted in 3 places in town: post office, hardware store and the town hall window box.

Present were Chairman Paul Ehlinger, Supervisors Nancy Schuhart and Jim Smith, and Clerk Brenda St. Peter.

Paul called the meeting to order. 

People present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

Nancy made a motion to amend the agenda to read:  Discussion/Decision on both #8 Discussion on Committee’s for board members & # 11 Discussion on Lawn Mowing position.  Jim seconded the motion.  3 yes, 0 no. The motion carried. 

Brenda read the minutes from the April 21st, 2015 meeting.  Nancy made a motion to accept the minutes as read.  Jim seconded the motion.  3 yes, 0 no.  The motion carried.

There were no public comments.

Discussion with Phil Shopodock on Potawatomi Gathering – tabled

Paul read a letter from Aaron Loomis of the Forest County Potawatomi Legal Department to amend the 2015 Fire Protection contract to read: “Town of Wabeno shall provide to FCPC, on or before 12/1/15, a fire report detailing all the responses during the calendar year in which the Town of Wabeno has undertaken for fire protection on FCPC lands.  This report will include for each incident, the number of responding fire fighters, equipment dispatched, type of fire, cause of fire and damage assessment.”  Paul made a motion to accept this addition to the Fire Protection Contract.  Nancy seconded the motion.  3 yes, 0 no.  The motion carried.

Discussion on Cecil street sidewalk – The town board will look at the sidewalk before the next meeting. 

Nancy made a motion to accept the Committee’s for board members to be as follows:  Paul – Police, Fire, FC Economic Development, FC Chamber, Park & FF Grounds.  Jim – Library, Sanitary Dept., Cemetery and Roads.  Nancy – Emergency Services, Land, Humane Officer and Recycling.  Jim seconded the motion.  3 yes, 0 no.  The motion carried.

Discussion was held on the permit fee for Room Tax.  Jim made a motion to set the fee to be $10 annually.  Nancy seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

Nancy made a motion to sign the Partial Release of Mortgage relating to Forest County Case No. 14-CV-90.  Paul seconded the motion.  3 yes, 0 no.  The motion carried.

Discussion was held on the lawn mowing position.  The board will be writing up a job description and approximate hours before the next board meeting.

The date for the annual road tour is set for May 12th, 2015 at 5:30.

Brenda read a letter of resignation from Officer Chase Mason.  Nancy made a motion to accept Chase’s letter of resignation.  Jim seconded the motion.  3 yes, 0 no.  The motion carried.

Brenda read a letter from Rick & Nicole Backhaus about Humane Officer Policies and Procedures.

Brenda read changes in P.D. procedures  having to do with starting and ending mileage, reports of daily activities, body camera, 40 hour work week and scheduled work hours for Chief of Police Mick Ashbeck.  Paul made a motion to accept these procedures.  Nancy seconded the motion.  3 yes, 0 no.  The motion carried.

Nancy made a motion to accept The Crystal Bell Inn & Spa wine license.  Paul seconded the motion.  3 yes, 0 no.  The motion carried.
Nancy made a motion to go into closed session under State Statute 19.85(1)(e) deliberating or negotiating the purchasing of public property.  Jim seconded the motion.  3 yes, 0 no.  The motion carried.

Nancy made a motion to adjourn.  Jim seconded the motion.  3 yes, 0 no.  The motion carried.
