Regular town board meeting held on July 29th, 2014 at the Wabeno Town Hall Meeting Room.  Meeting notice was posted in 3 places in town: Post Office, Wabeno Hardware & the Town Hall Window Box.

Present were Chairman Edward Piontek, Supervisors Paul Ehlinger & Tom Tallier, Treasurer Cheryl Ehlinger and Clerk Brenda St. Peter.

Ed called the meeting to order at 7 pm.

People present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

Paul made a motion to approve the agenda as presented.  Tom seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

Public Comments:

Mary Beck updated on the Boardwalk project.  Topics discussed were:  Scheduling Diggers Hotline, Job Corps starts work on Monday, August 4, 2014, and Wisconsin WisCorps is possible resource to build other phases of boardwalk or the Wabeno Lumberjack Trail.

Sandy Mackey asked questions about Humane Officer dogs and finances.  Ed is talking with the Potawatomi’s for help with reservation dogs. 

The offer on Lot #2 land was discussed.  Tom made a motion to accept $31,000 for the 5+ acres of Lot #2.  Ed seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

Possible road work was discussed.  Tom made a motion to spend $4,700 on road repairs with Farhner.  Paul seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

There was a discussion on giving hours to Officer Chase Mason.  Ed made a motion to give hours to Chase Mason at $15 per hour and will be reviewed at 6 months under a probationary period.  Tom seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

Paul made a motion to partner with the Forest County Economic Development.  Tom seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

Ed made a motion to partner with the Forest County Chamber of Commerce.  Tom seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

Ed made a motion to adjourn.  Tom seconded the motion.  The motion carried.
