Regular town board meeting held on August 25th, 2016 at the town hall meeting room.  Notice was posted in 3 places in town: post office, hardware store and the town hall window box.

Present were Chairman Paul Ehlinger, Supervisors Jim Smith and Nancy Schuhart and Clerk Brenda St. Peter.  Absent Treasurer Chris Geske.

Paul called the meeting to order at 6 pm.

Pledge of Allegiance.

Nancy made a motion to approve the agenda as presented.  Jim seconded the motion.  3 yes 0 no.  Motion carried.

Nancy made a motion to approve the minutes as read.  Jim seconded the motion.  3 yes 0 no.  Motion carried.

Public Comments

Mike and Cindy Spradau expressed concerns about Range Line Street.  Jim to get more information on what is happening with tree cutting. 

Letters:

Dept. of Revenue – Internet availability for reports on Equalized Value.

Wisconsin Towns Association – Completing survey on line.

Recycling center work orders – compliance with the fire dept.

Jim made a motion to accept the Town of Wabeno’s full time employee benefit package with an amendment that the employee’s pay 6.8% of employee’s state retirement.  Total retirement rate is 14.4%.  Nancy seconded the motion.  3 yes 0 no.  Motion carried.

Paul made a motion to accept resolution no. 01-2016 Forest County library tax exemption.  Nancy seconded the motion.  3 yes 0 no.  Motion carried.

Paul made a motion to accept operator’s licenses for Misty Pence, Cheyanne Kane, Kaitlyn Schingeck and Melissa West.  Nancy seconded the motion.  3 yes 0 no.  Motion carried.

Nancy gave an update on the meeting between UARS, Blackwell and Freedom.  A second meeting between the towns and the UARS will be planned in the near future.

Brenda gave an update on the technology upgrade.  New computers, printers, etc. are being installed.  Door entry work will be done in the near future.

The Town of Wabeno highway job was given to Brad Champine.  Brad will be starting on August 29, 2016.

Jim made a motion to increase the salary of recycling workers Woodson Collins and Paul Menne by $.50 an hour and increased Harvey Vladik’s salary by $1.00 per hour.  Paul seconded the motion.  3 yes 0 no.  Motion carried.

Jim gave an update on the Trump/Rummell Road project. 

Checks are 5203 – 5250 with void of 5210. 

The next meeting is set for September 15, 2016 at 6pm.
