Regular town board meeting held on January 19th, 2017 at the town hall meeting room. Notice was posted in 3 places in town: post office, hardware store and the town hall window box.
Present were Chairman Paul Ehlinger, Supervisors Jim Smith & Nancy Schuhart, Treasurer Chris Geske & Clerk Brenda St. Peter.
Paul called the meeting to order.
Pledge of Allegiance
Nancy made a motion to accept the agenda as presented but to table # 12 - Discussion/Decision on transferring monies to the Roads & Fire Dept. for 2016 & # 15 - Motion to go into Closed Session under Sec. 19.85 (1)(c). Paul seconded the motion. 3 yes 0 no. Motion carried.
Brenda read the minutes from the December 30th, 2016 meeting. Jim made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Nancy seconded the motion. 3 yes 0 no. Motion carried.
Jerry Diny commented on the outside board not having the correct meeting date on it.
Barb Charlton commented on the Forest Republican not having the correct meeting date in it.
Paul shared a letter received from the US Dept. of the Interior noting that the FC Potawatomi Community bought land formally owned by Ian Connor.
Paul signed a letter allowing the FC Commission on Aging to use our facilities free of charge.
The town board signed the 2017 Fire contract for the Town of Blackwell.
Paul and Jim gave an update on the Trump Lake pavilion. Pictures were shared and the pavilion is coming along nicely.
Discussion took place on the potential bathhouse at the fire fighters grounds. Jim will have specs put together and an ad will be put in the paper for bids around Feb. 1st.
Connect Communities – tabled
Discussion took place on the town planning committees. The town board believes this is a good idea and looks forward to working with these committees in the future.
The next town board meeting is Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017.
