Regular town board meeting held on June 16, 2015 at the town hall meeting room.  Meeting notice was posted in 3 places in town: post office, hardware store and the town hall window box.

Present were Chairman Paul Ehlinger, Supervisors Nancy Schuhart and Jim Smith, Treasurer Chris Geske and Clerk Brenda St. Peter.

Paul called the meeting to order.

People present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

Nancy made a motion to accept the agenda as presented.  Jim seconded the motion.  The motion carried.  3 Yes 0 no.  Motion carried.

Brenda read the minutes of the June 2nd, 2015 meeting.  Nancy made a motion to accept the minutes as ready.  Paul seconded the motion.  3 yes, 0 no.  Motion carried.

Public Comments:

Kathy McHugh requested permission to put up/take down signs each Saturday to promote the Country Market. 

Mandy Hartman asked a question about the Fire fighters grounds concerning the camping at the grounds.  The camping is part of the rental agreement.

Raletta Ashbeck requested the board to look into extending the Fire fighters grounds rental beyond 1 year.

Letters
Brenda read a letter from Pam LaBine of the Forest County Land and Water Resouces.  The letter is on file in the clerk’s office.

The estate of Bernice Mugan donated $2000 to be used at the Forest Hill Cemetery.

Nancy made a motion to accept the liquor licenses and bartenders licenses as presented.  Jim seconded the motion.  3 yes 0 no.  Motion carried.  They are as follows:

Class B Beer and Liquor – Pichotta’s Pub & Grub, Potawatomi Carter Casino Hotel, Arts Emporium-Essen haus and Big Eastel Gallery & Bistro.  Class A liquor – Flowers Galore

Forest County Humane Center tabled – waiting on contract

Fred Bath is inquiring about alleyways put in connecting to his town properties.

The town board has hired Richard Morris and Russell Geiter to work on lawn mowing of town properties.  They will be splitting a 40 hour work week.

There was a discussion on employee raises.  The town board will meet in closed session for evaluations of town workers.

Jim made a motion to do black top work on the following roads per County’s estimate:  A Avenue, Pearl Street, River Street, Shiner Lake Road, Windfall Street and Depot Lane.  Paul seconded the motion.  3 yes 0 no.  Motion carried.

The town roads crew will be doing ditch work around town.  Letters will be presented to town residents who may be affected by this work requesting their cooperation to help alleviate the water problems we are encountering.

Nancy made a motion to change the Recycling Center Hours to better accommodate the residents of Wabeno.  They are as follows:  Wednesday 12pm to 6 pm, Saturday 9am to 3pm and Sunday 10am to 2pm.  Jim seconded the motion.  3 yes 0 no.  Motion carried.

Chris presented the board with the financial report for May.

July 7th and July 21st are the dates set for the July 2015 town board meetings.

Jim made a motion to go into closed session, pursuant to Wis. Statute Section 19.85(1)(c) to discuss employee compensation.  Nancy seconded the motion.  3 yes 0 no.  Motion carried.

Paul made a motion to go into closed session, pursuant to Wis. Statute Section 19.85(1)(e) to discuss purchasing of public properties.  Nancy seconded the motion.  3 yes 0 no.  Motion carried.

Jim made a motion to return to open session.  Nancy seconded the motion.  3 yes 0 no.  Motion carried.

Jim made a motion to pay the remaining 64 hours of vacation pay to Mick Ashbeck pending Thursday’s police inventory.  Nancy seconded the motion.  3 yes 0 no.  Motion carried.

Paul made a motion to adjourn.  Nancy seconded the motion.  3 yes 0 no.  Motion carried.
