Regular town board meeting held on September 15, 2016 at 6 pm at the town hall meeting room.  Notice was posted in 3 places in town: post office, hardware store and the town hall window box.

Present were Chairman Paul Ehlinger, Supervisors Jim Smith & Nancy Schuhart, Clerk Brenda St. Peter and Treasurer Chris Geske.

Paul called the meeting to order at 6 pm.

Pledge of Allegiance

Jim made a motion to approve the agenda as presented.  Nancy seconded the motion.  3 yes 0 no.  Motion carried.

Nancy made a motion to approve the minutes as read.  Jim seconded the motion.  3 yes 0 no.  Motion carried.

Public Comments:

Dennis Kopecky inquired about the future of the former Grand Plank.  Nancy to contact Pam LaBine.

Brenda expressed concerns on complaints on the road conditions. 

Rusty Oehler shared concerns about a caved in roof at 3228 Main Street in Carter.

Brenda read a letter from Josh Jameson, President of Wabeno Area Players, requesting to have rehearsals at the town hall.  The board will allow if the town hall is not previously rented.

The board approved a drive way permit for Patrick Harrison at 2781 Trump Lake Road with no restrictions. 

The board approved a construction permit for Larry Rocole at 2099 Hwy 32.

The board approved 2 temporary liquor licenses for Wabeno Area Players dated October 13th through the 15th, 2016 and November 17th through the 19th, 2016.

Paul made a motion to approve Class B liquor licenses for Loraine Ann Bailey opening up Frans Pub at 4493 North Branch Street.  Jim seconded the motion.  3 yes 0 no.  Motion carried.

Jake Godin spoke about his garage roof that has caved in.  The board has granted him an extension of two months to secure the building.

Marlin Breaker asked if the town would improve and develop Range Line Street.  This is a town road and the town will be improving this road in the near future.

Mary Beck presented proposed Bath House plans for the FF Grounds.  The board has asked her to go forward with getting more concrete numbers on this proposal.

Nick Wilson of the UARS gave an update on the EMS struggles and leadership.  The town board, along with Freedom and Blackwell, will meet with the UARS on Monday, September 26th to have further discussions on the 2017 contract.

Nancy made a motion to hire a lawyer, along with Blackwell and Freedom, to discuss EMS services, if needed.  Jim seconded the motion.  3 yes 0 no.  Motion carried.

The Trump Lake project is moving forward.  Next week they will be grinding and blacktop will be laid soon after.

The board looked over the Shore land drafts of zoning maps.  Nancy will be contacting Pam LaBine is discuss them further.

Trick or Treat hours are set for Halloween evening, October 31st, 2016 from 4 to 7pm.

The next town board meeting will be set for Thursday, October 13th at 6pm.
