Regular town board meeting held on March 15th, 2016 at the town hall meeting room. Meeting notice was posted in 3 places in town: post office, hardware store and the town hall window box.
Present were Chairman Paul Ehlinger, Supervisor Nancy Schuhart, Treasurer Chris Geske and Clerk Brenda St. Peter.
People present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Paul made a motion to approve the agenda as presented. Nancy seconded the motion. 2 yes 0 no. Motion carried.
Brenda read the minutes of the February 9th, 2016 town board meeting. Paul made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Nancy seconded the motion. 2 yes 0 no.
Ralph McHugh discussed the Sportsman’s Club and trout in the Oconto River.
Brenda discussed the room tax with the board and discussed Safari Motel not being in compliance.
Paul discussed a letter from the Dept. of the Army Corps of Engineers concerning wetlands and the recreational walking trail.
Paul signed an agreement with BG & Associates to continue the administration of the housing RLF in the town of Wabeno.
Paul signed a memorandum of understanding with Forest County for WISVOTE services.
Nancy made a motion to sign a Class B liquor license for Kelly Grutzik and 2 Buck Bar. Paul seconded the motion. 2 yes 0 no. Motion carried.
Nancy made a motion to appoint Dale Harrison to the Wabeno Library Board following their recommendation. Paul seconded the motion. 2 yes 0 no. Motion carried.
Brenda will be posting Ordinance No. 12016 discontinuing the joint Municipal Court between the towns of Wabeno, Laona, Townsend and Goodman.
Al Murray spoke about the timber sale. Paul made a motion to release the performance bond for the dump sale. Nancy seconded the motion. 2 yes 0 no. Motion carried.
Use of a garage was discussed for the Dual Sports. More information is being collected.
Trump Lake road project – Tabled
Fire Fighters Park rental contract is being reworked. Brenda is able to book out area till the end of 2017.
Lynn LaRock resubmitted the Rustic Roads application. Paul made a motion to sign the Rustic Road Resolution. Nancy seconded the motion. 2 yes 0 no. Motion carried.
Paul gave an update on the Cavour Street Bridge.
Discussion was had on the companies for fire extinguisher maintenance. More information is needed.
County Supervisor, Scott Shaffer let the board know that the RV ordinance is tabled at the county level.
Lynn Black, Highway Office Manager, sent a letter with oil prices and said that this is a great year to have highway work done.
Checks are 4902 – 4960 with a void of 4907.
The scheduled closed session meeting will be held on April 12th, 2016.
The annual town meeting will be held on April 19, 2016 at 6pm. The regular town meeting will immediately follow the annual meeting.
