Regular town board meeting held on June 10th, 2014, at the town meeting room.  Meeting notice was posted in 3 places in town: Post Office, Wabeno Hardware & the Town Hall Window Box.

Present were Chairman Edward Piontek, Supervisors Paul Ehlinger & Tom Tallier, Treasurer Cheryl Ehlinger and Clerk Brenda St. Peter.

 At 6pm the town board members along with community members made a walk thru of the park and surrounding areas for inspection of facilities.

Ed called the meeting to order at 7pm.

People present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

Tom made a motion to amend the agenda and add ‘replacing police vehicle’.  This was added to the agenda at number 7.  Paul seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

Brenda read the minutes of the May 20th, 2014 meeting.  Paul made a motion to approve the minutes as read.  Tom seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

Public Comments:

Tom made a motion to accept a letter and pictures presented from Cheryl Ehlinger.  Brenda read a letter from Jeanne Schlafke regarding water problems.  Ed seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

Kevin Podjaski brought up concerns over the old depot spring.

Paul gave an update on the Phoenix.  It is at Smith Concrete for repairs.

Ed presented the board members a letter from the US Dept. of the Interior regarding tribe taking the land off the tax roll.

Paul made a motion to accept licenses as presented.  Tom seconded the motion.  The motion carried.  The list is as follows:  Class C – Steven Ashbeck, Flowers Galore & Darlene Edlebecki, Darlene’s Country Cottage.  Class B – Richard Backhaus, Backhaus’ Sportsmens Retreat, Michael Friesen, Big Easel Gallery & Bistro, Michael Friesen, Arts Emporium/Essen haus, Harold Huettl, Wildcat Den & Harold Frank, Potawatomi Carter Casino Hotel.  Bartenders: Cynthia Ann Tallier & Lynn Marie LaRock, Backhaus’ Sportsmens Retreat, Scott Schuhart, Self.   Cigarette & Tabacco License, Potawatomi Carter Casino Hotel.

Officer Ashbeck presented the board members with estimates for updating a new police vehicle.  More information will be provided at the next meeting. 

Raletta Ashbeck representing the Wabeno Chamber of Commerce asked questions regarding the temporary picnic license policies.  Ed will be calling the Wisconsin Towns Association for further explanation of the law.

Ed made a motion to raise the 3 full time town employers’ wages by 2%.  Paul seconded this motion.  The motion carried.

Tom presented information on the RAC fund and Stewardship monies.

Tom made a motion to adopt an ordinance to increase court fees.  The ordinance is number 2014-1 to add increase from $28 to $38 per Wisconsin Statute SS 814.65.  Paul seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

Recycling fees were discussed.  More information will be brought for the next meeting.

Butch gave an update on the trash compactor.  The concrete is poured for the recycling compactor, the electrical is being looked into and the 2nd pad will be put out on bids.

Paul made a motion to go with ReMax  for a one year contract to list possible land.  Restrictions and contract to be discussed with town board before signing.  Ed seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

Checks presented were 3370 – 3450 with a void of #3383.

The next town board meeting will be June 24th.  At 6:30 the board will meet at the Trump Lake Pavilion to look over buildings.  The meeting will begin at 7pm at the Trump Lake Pavilion.

Paul made a motion to adjourn.  Tom seconded the motion.  The motion carried.
